Setting up your Consultancy

Welcome to Carbon+Alt+Delete! If you are an admin, you should have already received an invite from your Account Executive which will let you log into the platform. Or, you can just navigate to Carbon+Alt+Delete and log in.

Consultancy settings

Once logged in, the first thing you will want to do is manage your consultancy settings which can be accessed by clicking on your profile dropdown and clicking "Consultancy Settings".

Within the settings, you will find three tabs:

  • Company Accounts: a company account is an organization having its emissions calculated using Carbon+Alt+Delete, i.e., your clients.
  • Expert Users: users that can be set up to have access to multiple company accounts. These are typically members of a team of consultants, as opposed to users directly associated with the company having its emissions calculated.
  • Appearance: settings for app and report appearance. Change colours, logo, and more.

You will notice that you have two pre-configured company accounts named "Demo" and "Test", both tagged "Demo". You can consider these "playground" accounts where you can experiment with features and learn. These accounts will of course not count towards your company account limit.

Creating company accounts

To start calculating footprints, you first need to set up company accounts for your different client projects. You do this by clicking "Add new Company Account" as can be seen in the image above.

This will open a sidepane to the right where you can edit the company account details. When you create a new company account, you will automatically be added as an Expert User (how to add more covered in the next section). Apart from this, you can also enable the feature Product Footprint. Please note that this will incur an additional cost.

Finally, you can also manage what Company Users have access to this account by clicking "Manage Company Users". More on this on this page.

Inviting your team

Once you have set up your customer company accounts and modified the appearance settings to your liking, you should start adding your team members. This is done in the "Expert Users" tab.

If you click "Add new user" a new sidepane will appear where you can fill in the details of your new expert user. You will need to fill in name, email, whether or not this user should have admin privileges, and what companies they should have access to.

An Expert User has full edit rights in all feature pages of the company accounts they have access to. Admin Users additionally have access to consultancy settings.

Then you simply send the invite to send them an access link right to their email. You can alternatively copy the invite link and send this via your preferred medium.

After having sent the invite, the user will show up with the status tag "Invited". This will change to "Active" once they have logged into Carbon+Alt+Delete. You can at any point deactivate a user to prevent them from logging in, for example if they have left the company. Please note that to activate them again, you will need to re-invite them.
