Release notes October 2024
Updated Reports, AI search, and new emission factor databases
Major update to Reports
Firstly, the report create feature has been given a more visual layout. The language option is set for future translation options.
The updated disclosures are more aligned with internal review and external audit processes and give you the possibility for additional context for methodological choices or boundaries.
More information on the operational disclosures of the organisation's activities is provided based on the description of the activity categories and the reason for including or excluding an activity category in the Boundaries > Activity Categories.
There are also a number of new appearance options including the ability to adjust colours and images used on the covers. You can also change the title of the Report and add details about the consultancy. These settings are available in Consultancy Settings > Appearance.
Important note: reports might not appear white labelled as the accent colour of the report appearance is not automatically adjusted to the app appearance colours.
In the report itself, multiple updates have been made:
- Methodology Update: The methodology section has been expanded to include more detailed explanations to allow to better understand the report.
- Detailed operational boundaries: The report now includes a detailed breakdown of the reasons for including or excluding the activities (see above)
- Graphs: Figures have been added to provide quick overviews of key findings, making insights more immediately accessible.
- Uncertainty: All tables now display uncertainty metrics alongside the primary data, previously only available in the dashboard. This inclusion allows readers to assess the reliability of each value within the report context.
Search emission factors with AI
We are pleased to announce that you can now search for emission factors using AI. We have integrated with and LLM to make it easier to search for emission factors when you don't have the exact text used in the factor description. This allows you to describe the activity you are looking for without being limited by the exact match logic, and also in any language that you want.
The results are returned in order of similarity to the search term, and you can view this ranking in the Similarity column.
New emission factor databases: GLEC, WRAP, UBA
GLEC provides standardized emission factors specific to the logistics sector, enabling consistent calculation of greenhouse gas emissions across various modes of transportation and logistics activities.
WRAP offers emission factors specific to the agriculture and food supply chain. Moreover, we believe that WRAP is very suitable for future accounting in compliance with the Land Sector And Removal guidance (coming soon).
UBA offers emission factors specific for Germany.
With this update, we took the effort to add the logos of the dataset publishers in the factor library overview.
Minor updates & fixes
- Keyword & detail mapping on import - when importing category specific keywords and details (e.g. fuel and origin) the columns are automatically mapped to the expected fields, keyword and detail.
- Dashboard - also show periods with no data, so the x-axis remains consistent.
