Business travel by air (flights)
Greenhouse Gas Protocol
For air travel emission factors, multipliers or other corrections to account for radiative forcing may be applied to the GWP of emissions arising from aircraft transport. If applied, companies should disclose the specific factor used.

Implementation by Carbon+Alt+Delete
Carbon+Alt+Delete allows the user to include or exclude the effect of radiative forcing in Air travel. By default, the effect is included.
Users can decide to not include this additional effect, in which no additional effect will be taken into account. Only the chosen methodology will be shown in dashboard, inventory, and reporting. The user cannot opt to dual-report.
The way the radiative forcing is calcualted depends on the source. Typically, a central multiplier is used to summarise all additional effects of non-CO₂. For example GOV.UK uses a central multiplier of 1.7x on the combustion CO₂ value to estimate the radiative forcing effect (see methodology here). Other sources have other methodologies.
