Calculation

Once a company has signed and submitted the Commitment Letter, it will have up to 24 months to (i) develop targets aligned with the SBTi Criteria and Recommendations and (ii) submit the target to the SBTi for validation.

Carbon+Alt+Delete implemented an intuitive target calculator for both non-SME (the cross-sector absolute reduction calculation method) and SME, inspired by the SBTi criteria and aligned with the GHG Protocol for the inventory. The targets must be in line with the criteria that the SBTi considers critical for qualifying a target as “science-based”. The SBTi has developed a suite of guidances to help companies understand how to meet these criteria.
