Update: While the functionality described below is still available, we recommend the use of the centralized custom datasets available in the Factor Library
Custom entries are intended to facilitate the use of emission factors that are specific to the reporting organisation or consultancy. Relying on custom emission factors to represent externally published factors because they are not yet supported by Carbon+Alt+Delete is not recommended.
Please contact us at support@carbonaltdelete.eu and we will let you know if your required data source is already on our roadmap or if we can provide an alternative solution.
In the Inventory view, open the Activity Category selector.
Scroll to the bottom of the dropdown and select the Custom option.
Click the Add button to create a new Custom entry.
You will see that the Activity is set to Custom, but you still need to indicate which Activity Category the entry should be reported under.
Select the category for reporting in the secondary "Activity" field in the green section of the detail pane.
In the green section, add the Volume value, along with its unit, and the Emission Factor value. These values are multiplied to produce the emissions for the entry. Emission Factors should be given in kgCO₂e per specified unit.
You can enter a custom Keyword and Details label to the entry. These are not required, but can be used for searching and sorting as you would in a normal Activity Category, or simply to keep track of what the entry represents.
