How To: View Dashboards Relative to a Business Metric

It can be useful to view the company's emissions data within the context of the scale of the business or subdivision. You can add business data and then view the dashboards normalized over that data.

Creating Business Metrics and metric values

Business metrics are defined in the Boundaries view and values are entered in the Inventory.

Details on settings up metrics and adding data can be found here:

Viewing the Normalized Dashboards

Once you have added business data you can view both the Insights and Compare dashboards with a relative metric enabled.

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard view.

  2. On the Insights tab, click the "More" button next to the filters to view all the available dashboard controls.

  3. In the "Relative Metrics" section, select Intensity Ratio metric from the dropdown.

  4. Click "Done" to see the result of the normalization.

  5. On the Compare tab, you can set the relative metric for each graph separately.

  6. Click the three-dot menu next to the graph title, and select "See all filters".

  7. Follow the same steps as above to set the metric ratio for the selected graph.

  8. You can now review whether the difference between two offices emissions are significant once you have accounted for the size of the office.
