We are pleased to inform you of three new updates in Carbon+Alt+Delete:
(1) AI Document processing for import
(2) Custom Targets
(3) Additional units in Factor Library
We have introduced new AI Document Screening feature to automatically process PDFs and images, such as invoices, into data that is ready for import.
Access this new feature from the AI Import (beta) tab in the sidebar. The tool will analyse the file that you upload and extract the relevant details. It also provides some reasoning and uncertainty of its choices. Once the analysis is complete, you can seamlessly proceed with importing the generated data line(s).
Note that this feature is experimental so please review the data generated carefully. We look forward to hearing your feedback.
You can now customize your company Targets to better align with your specific goals. Start by selecting all target calculation criteria before you can customize your target:
Expand the main section by clicking the expand icon.
Select Custom Target as the Target Type.
Open the target details to edit the Target Value and Target Metric for Scope 1 & 2 and Scope 3. These targets can be edited independently.
Switching the Target Type back to a science-based target will overwrite your customized targets with SBTi-compliant values.
After setting your target, you can click View on simulation graph to see the simulation graph with your target toggle activated.
We’ve raised the default Scope 3 near-term annual reduction rate from 2.5% to 4.2% to align with the 1.5°C global target. If you prefer less stringent targets, you can adjust them using the Custom Target feature.
We have extended the unit selection available when you manually select an emission factor from the Factor Library.
While the Factor Library displays emission factors with a single unit, you can now choose an alternative unit within the same type (e.g., kilograms to tonnes) once added to the Inventory.
The system will automatically recalculate the factor to align with the selected unit. This functionality is also available for Custom emission factors.
On Dec 16 2024, we will update all emission factors with the latest available data.
In in the new year we look forward to adding options in the Inventory volume inputs and an update to the Inventory data export.
