Custom emission factors can now be created and stored centrally in the Emission Factor Library. This allows for the convenient reuse of custom factors and eliminates the need to manually input values for each entry in your Inventory – although this manual functionality is still available.
You will find two new options in your Emission factor library:
Shared dataset that is accessible for use in every company account in your profile. Only Admin users can create and edit these emission factors.
Private dataset that is only accessible for use in the company account that you are viewing. Each company account has its own private dataset and any user with edit access to the company account can create and edit these emission factors.
For each custom emission factor, you can now enter descriptive details, the unit, and the factor value. If you have the full details for a custom emission factor, you can select “Enable full details” and provide its greenhouse gas breakdown and supplementary emissions. There is also the option to provide details for an emission factor with both market and location values or one with and without radiative forcing. Once created, these emission factors can be used in the same way that other connected datasets are used (e.g. Ecoinvent) – by creating entries via the library or by assigning the emission factor to an existing entry in the Inventory.
The UK Gov. dataset is updated with the new activity-based emission factors for the year 2023 for all activity categories. One of the major changes in this dataset update is the switch to AR5 for the GWP values of fugitive emissions, as initiated by the publisher.
Apart from the 2023 updates, we also retroactively integrated older versions for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. We also made changes to our approach on keyword renaming. The in-app keywords and details are now more closely aligned with the wording in the original source.
We have updated the Company Accounts page to better reflect our partnership model. You can now see how many Company Accounts are available according to your contract and how many are already in use. You can still create more company accounts than contracted, and you will then receive a message from us. We have also labeled the 2 company accounts that you have for free as Demo accounts.
We are currently working on functionality to facilitate correct reporting for intercompany trades and advanced report customization.
