Improved GHGP reporting category alignment
We have an important change to share with you this week! We have updated our activity naming and groupings to align more closely with the GHGP reporting scheme.
We recommend that you review your Activity Categories list in Boundaries.
Updated activity types
There have been several changes to the activity category types – types have been created, merged, separated, renamed, or their inputs adjusted slightly.
Existing activities will still be assigned to a type that is equivalent to their original type, and this should predominantly affect reporting.
You will see the updated types from the Boundaries view.
Update for new Companies
When you create a new company, the Activity categories, Types, and Groups will be created using the new configuration.
The Activity categories will be grouped into Direct, Electricity, Upstream, and Downstream.
Activity categories will be created with the new default labels.
Example:
The new “Electricity” group contains the categories “Electricity” and “Steam, Heat, Cooling”. These are assigned the new types “Purchased electricity” and “Purchased steam, heat, cooling” respectively.
Update for existing Companies
Only the types will be updated for existing companies. The names of existing categories and groups will not be changed.
The types that are new to the system will be disabled/hidden by default and are grouped together in a “Unused” section on the Boundaries view.
You can activate and move these into the appropriate groups as needed.
