What's New?
Custom Emission Factor migration
We have fully updated the system so that there is only one place to define custom emission factors – the Factor Library.
All custom factors that were previously defined on a specific Custom Inventory entry have been converted to factors in the company’s centralized Private Custom Emission Factor dataset. This means that all these factors can be fully defined with GHG breakdowns, lifecycles stages etc. They can also be re-used, for example in following reporting periods.
There will no longer be a separate “Custom” section in the Activity Category selector on the Inventory page. The entries will simply be in their standard category (e.g. Mobile Combustion).
Note that the import flow for custom entries remains the same and the required factors will be automatically created in the Private dataset.
Removal of Input Type field
We have removed the Input Type field in most Activity Categories. This will improve consistency and efficiency during factor selection and Import.
The field remains for Business Travel as there it determines the Volume calculation rather than the Emission factor selection.
In the Activity Categories where Input Type has been removed, you will now find that the Keyword dropdown options are grouped. This means that you can search quickly across all the options.
Please note that the groups have also been merged in the Boundaries > Emission Factors page.
Request import template options
You now have the option to specify which template we provide when a data provider views a request.
On each request you can select from one of the following options:
Template with dataset validation – the template will include dropdowns according to the Activity Category and its preferred Emission factor dataset
Template without dataset validation – the template only includes the appropriate columns headings and examples
Custom template – you upload a custom file
No template – there will be no file provided
The chosen file will show on the request and will be made available to the data provider when they view the request.
What's Next?
The next release will introduce multi-edit for attachments, an additional filter option, and improved Settings and Boundaries navigation.
